Joan A. (Engstrom) Johnson

Worcester, MA, and York, ME, Joan A. (Engstrom, Allard) Johnson died after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Joan was born on September 4, 1934, in Worcester, MA, the daughter of Walter I. and Violet A. (Nystrom) Engstrom. She had lived in Worcester for most of her life.  She is survived by daughters Donna M. Allard-Flett (Fred Flett), York, ME; Lynn M. Smith (Joe Smith), Harpswell, ME; son Jon R. Allard (Karin Allard), Portsmouth, NH, and daughter Suzanne M. Allard-Johnson (Christopher Johnson), Cornish, NH, along with grandchildren Alfreda (Smith) Cutler, Rob Allard, and Edith Allard. Joan graduated from Clark University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, attaining Highest Honors. She was a long-time school teacher, librarian, and accomplished artist.
