Joel (Jody) S. Donnell, 52, of Blackberry Place, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his Aunt Deb's home in York, Maine.

He was born July 21, 1969 in Portland, Maine. He was the son of Patricia J. Donnell and the late Robert O. Donnell, Jr.

After attending the York schools, Joel found his passion on the ocean, spending his working life on lobster boats both in Perkins Cove and York Harbor. He was fortunate to have experienced the guidance of many of lobsterman's finest captains. It was through them that he became the skilled sternman that he was.

Joel is survived by his mother Patricia J. Donnell and her life partner Tom Farrow of Cape Neddick, Maine, brother Zachary G. Donnell and his daughter Norah Rachel Donnell both of Wells, Maine; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham, NH.
