Joseph S. Fogg Obituary

Joseph Scott Fogg

March 20, 1970-December 2, 2021

Joe passed away after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center December 2, 2021.  He was surrounded by his loving family.  Joe was born at Portsmouth Regional Hospital to parents Linda and Gordon Fogg.  He was raised in York Maine and attended York schools.

He grew up on Chases Pond Road in the house his father and grandfather built.  Joe and his siblings Frank and Julie developed especially close bonds as children that lasted a lifetime.  Joe was a daredevil dirt bike rider and reputedly was never passed on the trails of York County.  Joe was an athlete and played football, basketball and baseball during his school years and continued by playing men’s league basketball and softball as well as semi-pro football in his young adult years.

In 1988, following in his father's footsteps, he started a drywall contracting business with good friend Russell Escobar.  In 1992 he joined his older brother Frank in California.  While there he worked for Almaden Construction and worked on various commercial projects in California including Kristi Yamaguchi’s ice-skating facility in L.A.

In 1998 he returned to York Maine and started Fogg Brothers Drywall with Frank.  The two shared many good times and laughs while they grew the business.  Joe specialized in all phases of drywall including managing the crews and loved being in partnership with his brother.

In April 2007 Joe’s beloved son Trey was born.  Joe was a devoted and loving single father to Trey, coaching his sports teams and being involved in all his activities.  Trey was the apple of his eye and was a tremendous source of pride and joy.

On September 30th, 2018, he married Shari Reeder and together with her sons Dylan and Matthew Pratt Joe created the family he had always wanted.  They bought a beautiful house and made a wonderful life together.  This summer they bought a second home in Sarasota Florida where Joe and his family could enjoy the sun, palm trees, pool and beach.

Throughout Joes life he touched many people.  He was known for his big, generous heart, his infectious smile that could light up a room, and for being a sweet, beautiful and amazing man.  He made everyone around him feel special and important.  There was nothing that Joe would not do or give for those he cared about.  He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin and friend.  Family was most important to Joe, and he was loyal and devoted to his.

Joe could not have been more loved, and he will be missed deeply by everyone.  He is survived by his wife Shari, son Trey, stepsons Matt and Dylan, mother Linda, stepmother Dineas, brother Frank and his wife Karen, sister Julie and her husband Thompson Higgins, niece Sydney, nephews Jake, Sam, Ryan and Finley as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is predeceased by his father Gordon Fogg.
