June L. Bushika - North Berwick, ME
82 Years Old
June Carolyn Lepage Bushika passed away on October 23, 2022, after a long illness.
She was born in North Adams, MA on April 12, 1940 to Edward H. and Alice M. (Gelinas) Lepage. Her family moved to Bennington, VT when she was very young and resided there through her graduation of Bennington H. S. in 1958.
She then went on to study Electrology under the instruction of Eleanor F. Roberts in Greenfield, MA.
June eventually settled in North Adams, MA where she established her private Electrolysis practice. She was a proud member of the American Association of Electrologists as well as a past President of the Massachusetts Association of Electrologists.
Her love of volunteering led her to serve for many years at her local chapter of the Salvation Army in North Adams as well as the North Adams Business and Professional Women's Club and the North Adams Tree Commission.
June decided to change careers in her mid 40's and left her Electrolysis practice in the capable hands of her eldest daughter, Michelle Bushika Noel. In 1986, June and her daughter Monique relocated to York, ME where she pursued a career in real estate, eventually holding licenses in both Maine and Vermont. She continued her love of volunteering at the Maine Youth Center in South Portland, ME where she helped to educate and counsel underprivileged youth.
A lifelong devout Catholic, June felt very blessed to serve as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony's in North Adams, MA where she was a congregant for many years as well as at St. Christopher's in York, ME and Star of the Sea in York Beach, ME.
Her many passions included music, especially Opera, and her favorite performers were Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli. She was also an avid reader, lover of the arts and quite the history-buff.
June was predeceased by her brother Lewis Lepage in 1964, her parents, Alice and Edward Lepage, in 1986 and 1991, respectively, as well as her former husband Charles R. Bushika, with whom she remained close, in 2009. She leaves her devoted daughters, Michelle Noel (Rick) and Monique Knapp (Thor) as well as four grandsons, Jesse Noel & wife Amanda, Gabriel Noel, Caleb Noel and Charles Knapp.
There are no calling hours, but a Catholic Mass will be held at a future date.
Any condolences to the family may be sent through Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home of York, ME or E. P. Mahar & Son Funeral Home of Bennington, VT.
