June I. Foye Obituary

Kittery, Maine-June I. Foye passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 6, 2021 after a long period of declining health.

June began her life in this world in 1936 as the daughter of loving parents Hubert and Edith Wentworth in Brownfield, Maine. She grew up with three siblings whom she so loved. As a young country girl from Maine she loved riding horses. She also enjoyed gardening, lilac trees, walking on the beach, swimming, music, singing, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and would sometimes take out two books a week from the library. Her first job was as a clerk at JJ Newberry’s in Bangor and for a short time she also worked at Liberty Mutual as a punch operator and later at Rite Aid as a cashier. She was also a volunteer at Rice Public library. What she loved most was to work hard at creating a loving home filled with home cooked meals and a warm and clean living space for her family.

In 1954 June moved to San Antonio, Texas. Following that, she lived in Fairborn, Ohio where she began raising her young family, and then later relocated to Kittery, Maine. In 1962, she and her family settled in Eliot, Maine. As a loving mother, June was always there to listen, empathize, give a hug, and just be your friend. She had a wonderful smile that would make your heart glad and she would always make you feel better.

June was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated her life to God in September of 1990. Her faith was very important to her and she witnessed to others so they could know about the promises of a wonderful future as outlined in the Bible. She loved her friends in the congregation very much and they also loved her dearly. June had the firm hope of living forever in God’s Kingdom on a paradise earth in a world free from sickness and death as outlined in Revelation 21:3,4.

Our family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful and caring staff at Durgin Pines in Kittery and also where she lived prior at the Pines of Newmarket. We would also like to thank those who have lovingly showed support to her and to our family over these last few years. Mom was so very blessed to have so many who loved her and we were thankful to have her in our lives. We loved our mother with all our hearts.

June is survived by her son LeRoy and wife Rhonda, her daughter June (Teri) and husband George, her son Steven, her son David and wife Holly, her son Eric, her stepdaughter Lori and husband Ron, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Raymond, sisters Judy and Regina, and half-brother Hubert Jr.
