Kathleen K. Bishop Obituary

Kathleen K. Bishop, 89, of Dover, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at The Residence at Silver Square in Dover. Born on March 5, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kathy was beloved for her radiant smile, her easy, friendly way with people, and her sincere interest in others. The sweetest and kindest soul, she was always ready with a listening ear and deep devotion to her family.

Kathy was the Valedictorian of her high school and received a full scholarship to the University of Wisconsin when she was 18. Later she pursued and graduated with a Masters degree in Early Education. A dedicated elementary school teacher for more than 30 years in Pennsylvania’s Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, she taught kindergarten and fourth grade. Her warmth and care left a lasting impression on her students, many of whom remembered her fondly as “their favorite teacher.”

Kathy and her husband, George, raised their family in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. After retiring, they moved to Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania, where Kathy volunteered at the local library and served on the board of the Lake Naomi Club.

Kathy is survived by her three children, John Bishop, Greg Bishop, and Julie (Bishop) Edminster; her son-in-law, Brett Edminster; and her seven beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Collin, Caitie, Kyle, Alyssa, Jason, and Sophia. She adored each of them deeply, took great pride in their accomplishments, and never missed an opportunity to brag about them. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 loving years, George Bishop, who passed away in 2021.

In recent years, Kathy moved to the New Hampshire Seacoast to be closer to her daughter’s family. She cherished the weekly visits and holiday gatherings that allowed her to make up for lost time after years of distance.

At The Residence at Silver Square, Kathy remained warmly involved in community life, attending daily exercise classes, concerts, and guest speaker events. She was beloved by her neighbors for always offering a helping hand and gentle words of support to those facing health challenges.

Kathy will be remembered as the sweetest, kindest soul whose bright smile and welcoming presence lit up every room. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she brightened.

A funeral service will be held at Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
