Keith C. Bishop

York, Maine - Keith C. Bishop, 69, a lifelong resident of York, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at home.
He was born September 22, 1952 in York, Maine, the son of the late Clinton A. and Gloria (Raleigh) Bishop. 
Keith attended York Schools and graduated in 1971. He worked for the York Highway Department and Sheriff Department for a number of years until he became a full time Firefighter for the York Village Fire Department in 1974. He retired from the York Village Fire Department in 2014, where he remained a Member until present. Keith was also a Coastal Shell Fish Warden for many years, Licensed Plumber, Certified EMT and Member of the American Legion-Post 56. 
Besides spending time with family and friends, Keith greatly enjoyed the outdoors, was a nature enthusiast and loved observing wildlife. He enjoyed animals, farming, outdoorsman activities, going on vacations and traveling, visiting new and familiar places and experiencing new things.
You could find him out and about regularly and he would many times run into someone he knew. They would share a quick story, two, or a few, which most often left them walking away with energetic, contagious laughter, sometimes shaking their head. 
Anyone that knew Keith knew he was authentic, genuine, straightforward and spoke his mind. He was very humorous and witty, caring, kind-hearted, selfless and benevolent. Keith was a proud and loving son, father, husband, and grandfather. He touched many lives, is loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, pets, and all that knew him. 

He leaves his wife of 12 years, Diane C. (Treamer) Bishop; a son Keith C. Bishop Jr. and his wife Shelly of York, ME; a daughter Tami Greco and her husband Adam of Sanford, ME; 4 grandchildren, Brittney Noel Bishop, Christopher Thomas Bishop, Jake Greco and Emily Greco. And his German Shepherd “Burley” who was his co-pilot in many trips across long sands beach. 


Calling hours for family and friends will be held from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Thursday, October 28th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00pm in the First Parish Cemetery, 180 York St., York, Maine. Memorial contributions may be made to the York Village Fire Dept., 1 Firehouse Drive, York, Maine 03909.
