Kevin J. Fitzgibbon

Kevin J. Fitzgibbon, 65, of Cape Neddick, Maine passed away peacefully surrounded by family June 4, 2021 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Kevin was born on April 21, 1956 in Exeter, NH a son of the late Jack and Agnes (Blanchette) Fitzgibbon of Newmarket, NH. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Walker-Fitzgibbon of Cape Neddick, ME; two daughters, Erin Katsikas and her husband Eric Katsikas of Kingston, NH, and Brenna Fitzgibbon of Portsmouth, NH; two granddaughters Lillian and Aubrey Katsikas; mother-in-law Louise Ferazzi of Gloucester, MA; sisters Lisa Dollen and husband Ed of Exeter, NH and Andrea Cabral and husband Al of Hampton, NH; several nieces, nephews and friends. 

After graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas in 1974, he went on to study hospitality management at the University of New Hampshire and received his graduate degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Kevin spent many years in the hospitality industry all the way to teaching hospitality management at Northern Essex Community College, The Thompson School at UNH, to opening up a cooking school, The Chef’s Cottage, in Exeter, NH. Kevin thoroughly enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Kevin loved watching his daughter’s sporting events and dance recitals through the years from grade school all the way to college. Kevin was also a very active member of the Portsmouth community in participating in community service for ten years at Common Table at St. John’s Church. He was an active member of the Exeter Cooperative Regional School District for many years while his children attended school there.

He loved going to visit Star Island with his family as he worked there for two summers in food management.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 9th  from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 4 Barrell Lane, York, Maine on Thursday, June 10th at 11 am. Donations can be made in his name to the Seacoast Cancer Center in Dover, NH,  Beacon Hospice of Portsmouth, NH or a charity of your choice.
