Laurinda June Boston Bridges of York, Maine, died Saturday, December 19th at Portsmouth Hospital after a short illness. She was born on June 3, 1947, in Manchester, New Hampshire and was predeceased by her parents, Elwyn Richard Boston and Constance Smart Boston of York Beach. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Leslie H. Bridges. She is also survived by her sister, Alfreda Furnas of York Beach, brother Richard Boston and wife Kathleen, of York, Kathleen Cantwell of York Beach, and step children, Donna Sewall, New Durham, New Hampshire, Chris Leslie Bridges, Florida, Bonnie Myers, South Berwick, Maine, and Tammy Vetree, Ossipee, New Hampshire.
Laurie was a graduate of York High School and the University of New Hampshire. In her younger life, Laurie enjoyed playing the flute in her high school and college bands, and for special occasions at South Church where she was a member and treasurer. Before retirement Laurie worked in the banking industry and in retail sales. For many years, Laurie enjoyed the life of a clown’s wife accompanying Les as he performed throughout New England as “Beppo”, a member of a Kora Shrine Clown Unit.
A spring service is planned.
