Leanna Stella Mank-Parisi born May 12, 1989 and died July 4, 2022 at the age of 33 young years.
This sweet young lady died suddenly from cancer which metastasized quickly and she died within a month of being diagnosed. Her mother, Chris Parsons-Mank, step-father Jim Casey, her cousin Mikayla, her favorite uncle, Hal Stanwood, and close family friend, Kergan Thomann were by her side. She never complained and was brave and tough throughout this time.
The care she received in Nashville at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, especially under Dr. Peacock’s care in the Oncology Department was outstanding, kind, professional and caring. Also thank you to Dr. Sittig from the radiation oncology department and Olivia, her ICU nurse.
Leanna went to school in Camden, Maine where she completed her high school years in 2007. She grew up playing softball and was on the swim team. She played the flute, saxophone, guitar and piano. She loved singing in the chorus and was involved in the school theater. She was an avid Red Sox fan and her favorite player "Big Papi".
Her love of music carried on into her adult life. She enjoyed going to many Broadway shows, live music concerts and especially loved being an extra in various movies and TV shows.
She graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. Leanne stayed in the Connecticut area for a few years until moving south. She started work at Jack’s Top BBQ Home Cooking until her nursing license reciprocated to Tennessee, then started work as a LPN at Morningside Assisted Living in Cookeville, Tennessee and was very proud and excited with her position there.
This quirky loving gal loved her numerous dogs, especially the extra large ones, her Great Dane Lola, Hunter, and Lucy, Her Saint Bernard. She loved dogs so much she had a short career in dog grooming.
Traveling was another one of Leanna’s passions. Starting in high school she did many school trips including a trip to Japan and was involved in People to People. Independently she traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Canada especially Quebec and throughout the United States.
She also loved to create new and exciting recipes - her father William Mank was her inspiration in front of the stove.
Her love of music and travel brought her to the home of Blue Grass music, Sparta, Tennessee.
She was very proud to pursue her career and become LPN with the hopes of later becoming RN in Forensic studies.
We always admired her adventurous outlook on life. This free spirited young woman found her peace in the mountains surrounded by farmland. She was a kind and gentle soul loved by many. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed. We love you Leanna.
Predeceased by her father, William “Bill” Mank, her brother, Viktor Mank and her favorite person “Babshi”, her loving grandparent, Reggie Parsons and Lee Parsons, from York Harbor, Maine.
A celebration of life will be held from 3pm - 7pm on Thursday October 20th at The View, 88 Pepperrell Cove Road Kittery, Maine (across from the post office). Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
