Leonard J. Hackett, 68, of South Berwick, ME passed away on Sunday January 5, 2025, after a long, hard battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
He was born in Portsmouth, NH on October 30, 1956, to Laurence and Florence (Cushman) Hackett. He began his life in Portsmouth, then moved to Kittery with his family at age 12. He received his GED from Sanford High in 1991. He married Bonnie Hanson of York, ME in 1985.
He worked at various phases of construction, from poured foundations, to masonry, to wallboard plastering, as well as carpentry. He finished his career as a maintenance worker, first at the Sheraton Hotel in Portsmouth, NH, then at Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, NH.
He was an avid largemouth bass fisherman and enjoyed being out on lakes and ponds in his bass boat.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his sister Patricia (Larry), his brother Bob, and brother Ted (Cindy), his father-in-law Lloyd, his sister-in-law Sara (Billy), sister-in-law Trudy (Allan), and sister-in-law Amy (Joe).
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Larry, and brother-in-law Gene.
