Leslie N. (Rindge) Doherty

York, Maine-Leslie N. Doherty, 78 of U.S. Route One, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Pinnacle of North Berwick.

She was born July 3, 1945 in New London, Conn a daughter of the late Samuel E. and Gloria (Higgins) Rindge.

She attended the Boston School of Fine Arts and majored in painting and design.

She was a member of the Kittery and York Art Association, Kennebunkport and Newburyport Art Associations and was one of the first members who originated the Seacoast Area Artists Association.

She worked with Elyot Henderson teaching the first art program at York High School. She was the recipient of many awards and and her paintings were 

displayed in many art studios, galleries and festivals on the Seacoast. She was also a Beautician and had worked at Heads Up Salon.

She leaves her husband of  43 years, Martin C. Doherty; a daughter Karen Goodwin and her husband  John of Aldie, VA;

two grandchildren Samuel and Hannah; two brothers Dana and Guy Rindge; a sister-in-law Debbie Doherty; many friends.
