Mabel (Mae) Ann (Stanley) Banville, 86, of York, Maine, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Monday, August 21st, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Banville who predeceased her but they had 43 wonderful years together enjoying life and their 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Mae was born September 19, 1936 to Edwin and Helen (Kokoszka) Stanley in Fall River, MA where she attended Durfee High School.
Mae had many dear friends from her years in Massachusetts, and her years here in Maine, to her neighbors, to the church friends to the bingo ladies. They all talked about her love for her family, her kindness, generosity, graciousness, how she made them laugh and want to have fun. She loved to gamble and the only time her family ever saw her run was when you dropped her off at the entrance to a casino. She played bingo every chance she got from going to Dover, NH to the York Beach Fire Station, all the way up to Lewiston, ME. She loved scratch tickets, playing cards or playing board games.
Mae worked in the curtain factory in Fall River when young, and after her husband retired she worked at the Kittery Trading Post and then Royal Doulton in the Kittery Outlets until they closed. She was a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt to her nieces and nephews that she adored and their children, and a friend to many and they all said the same thing, She Will Be Missed!
She leaves behind her 4 loving children, Paula (Potvin) and Rick, Cape Neddick, ME, Paul, York, Maine, Karen (Thomas) and Brian, Stratham, NH, and Todd and Carolyn Savage of Kittery Point, Maine. Her 6 grandchildren Molly (pre-deceased her), Cassidy and Bailey Banville, Kaitlyn Mae and Cole Thomas and Kian Savage. Her sister Jennie (Louis) LaTulippe, Tiverton, RI. Her brother Richard Stanley pre-deceased her.
