Marcia T. Dean Obituary

Marcia T. (Stearns)Dean, 84, of Stratham, passed away peacefully at Webster at Rye on Thursday, March 24, 2022 after a period of declining health.

Marcia was born on July 14, 1937 to James E. and Margaret (Turner) Stearns in Woburn, MA. After Marcia graduated from Woburn High School in 1954 she went on to secretarial school at Katherine Gibbs in Boston.

In 1959, Marcia met Allan H. Dean in Woburn, MA. Marcia and Allan went on to have four children, Margaret (Maggie) Burke, Allan D. Dean, Russell J. Dean, and Shawn D. Dean. Marcia has ten grandchildren and one great grandchild, Matthew, Rowan, Ian, Alaina, Jordan, Kaya, Nick, Milo, Troy, Sara and great granddaughter Kennedy.

Marcia was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and going to their sporting events. One of Marcia’s favorite holidays was Halloween and for many years she hosted the annual Halloween party. Marcia was also an avid knitter and knitted all of her families Christmas stockings. She was an avid fan of college football and the New England Patriots.

Marcia was predeceased by her parents (James and Margaret), her sister, Ann, her nephews Alec and Bob Hege, niece Mary Ann Hege, her brother Jim,  father-in-law and  mother-in-law Daniel and Mary Dean and her beloved dog Emma.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Allan, daughter Maggie, son Allan and wife Jenn, son Russell and wife Melisa and son Shawn and wife Tanna, nephew James Hege, many great nieces and nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York, Maine on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 10:30am-12:30pm, a graveside service will follow at 1:30pm in Maple Lane Cemetery, Emery Lane, Stratham, NH.

Marcia was a three time cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marcia’s name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or American Cancer Society, organizations that she felt strongly about.

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice (Terri, Renee, Donna) and Webster at Rye (Chris and team)for the wonderful end of life care they provided. We would also like to thank Dr. Steven Paul and Dr. Adam Kurish. Marcia lived a much longer life because of the care you provided her over the years.
