Margaret R. (Holder) Cullum

Margaret R. Cullum, 90, passed away peacefully at Durgin Pines Nursing Home on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Born December 5, 1932, in Cheltenham, England, Margaret married her late husband Douglas A. Cullum in 1954 and settled in Sussex, England where they had four children.

 She and her family emigrated to the U.S. in 1975 and lived happily in Cape Neddick for more than four decades.

Maggi was a talented artist and potter, widely known for her unique, handcrafted stoneware “burlap” bags.

She was an unabashed lover of nature and spent countless summers sailing “Moonglow” with family and friends out of York Harbor and Casco Bay. 

Maggi will be remembered for her deep love of family, joy of dancing, fabulous cooking, and her very quick wit! She will also be remembered as a natural beauty whose generous smile would light up any room.

She is predeceased by her youngest son, Richard, who passed in 2021, and survived by her three other children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Maggi’s life will be held in the spring with a time and date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
