Marie “Mary” Della Puietra passed away on Friday July 4, 2025 at Sentry Hill.
She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 20, 1919 a daughter of the late Phillip and Louisa (Cioffi) Moreo.
Mary was raised and educated in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She and her husband, Vincent Della Puietra raised their children in Bridgeport as well.
She became a resident of York, Maine after her retirement from AVCO in 1982.
Besides love of God and family, she enjoyed and loved being a world traveler, an inn keeper for 10 seasons at her B & B (the Jo-Mar), and volunteering at York Hospital. Most of all Mary treasured her time volunteering with children with disabilities.
She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and International Woman’s Club.
Mary is survived by her daughters Joan Curtis and Mary Lou Della Puietra; grandchildren and their spouses Julie Briggs, Darrell Briggs, Dorothy Curtis, Nancy Scala, and George Curtis; great-grandsons Jack, Adam, and Paul Briggs; nieces, nephews and the Will family.
Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her sisters Josephine Convertito and Betty Salvo; brother Ralph Moreo; Godsons Jim Convertito and John Salvo, sons-in-law Dr. George Curtis and Charles Will and former son-in-law M. Darrell Briggs.
