York, Maine-Marjorie M. Cairns passed away at home on Friday, November 7, 2025 after a long but peaceful decline. She was born September 12, 1934 in Boston, the only child of the late Louis and Edna Wilder (Bragdon) Morando. She grew up in Everett, Massachusetts, where her father had a dental practice, and in York, where her mother's family had lived for generations.
Marjorie graduated from Buckingham School in Cambridge, MA, and went on to earn a B.S. from Tufts University, before receiving her Physical Education Diploma from Bouve-Boston School. She taught physical education and coached field hockey at the Middle Country Central School on Long Island before retiring to her family home in York.
In retirement she was known for her love of Airedales and her daily walks along the York River.
Marjorie will be interred in her family's plot in the First Parish Cemetery at 1:00, Monday, November 17th. Friends are welcome to attend.
