Mary Ann Hallisey Obituary

Mary Hallisey (Adinolfi), a beloved resident of York, Maine, and formerly of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on June 4, 1941, to Nicolo and Josephine Adinolfi of Grottaminarda, Italy, Mary’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and service to others.

Mary graduated from Malden High School in 1959 and in 1964, she married the love of her life, William D. Hallisey. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two cherished daughters who were the center of her world.

Mary’s career spanned various roles, beginning at Converse and culminating at the Tewksbury Police Department, where she worked as a paralegal and secretary. Beyond her professional life, Mary was deeply committed to her community. She served as an elected member of the Tewksbury School Board and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 56. Even after moving to York, she continued her dedication to service by mentoring young teens in the York School system.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Mary found immense joy in her family and friends. She loved cooking Italian meals, listening to Neil Diamond, reading the Bible, and shopping at Reny’s. Her pride in her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she never missed an opportunity to share their accomplishments with others. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose love and loyalty touched everyone she met.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, William; her two daughters, Lisa Stronach and her husband Timothy of Tewksbury, MA, and Jill Mainey and her husband Fred of Merrimack, NH. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Cunha and her husband Niko, Rachel Fowler and her husband Michael, Renee Ouellette and her husband David, Jake Mainey, and Ryan Mainey, as well as her great- grandchildren, Remi and Miller Ouellette, and Reese Cunha.

She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, who are now welcoming her into heaven.
