Matthew G. Breton

Matthew Gerard Breton, 33, of Cumberland, ME, passed away in a tragic car accident on February 19, 2024. He was born on October 13, 1990, in Portland, ME.

Matt was known for his kind and caring nature, intelligence, hardworking attitude, sarcasm, and humor.

Matthew, also known as "Matt" or "Matty", was a Territory Sales Manager at Niagara Machine, Inc. He graduated from Greely High School in 2009. He later graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a minor in Business from the University of New England in 2014.

In his free time, Matt enjoyed snowmobiling, football, hanging out with friends, and spending time with his family and beloved dog, Bruiser.

He is survived by his parents Gerry and Debbie Breton, sister Caroline Chaloner and her husband Zach Chaloner, nephew Henry Chaloner, grandmother Linda Ames, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Armand Breton and Claton Ames, Jr., and his grandmother Jeannine Breton.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 pm at The Elks Lodge #188, 1945 Congress St, Portland, ME 04102.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Matt's memory to the Epilepsy Foundation or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
