Nancy J. Chase Obituary
York Beach, Maine-Nancy J. Chase, 91 of Main Street, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Durgin Pines.
She was born June 28, 1930 in York, Maine a daughter of the late Arthur F. and Mina P. (Ellis) Chase and was a life long resident of York Beach.
She graduated from York High School in 1947 and from Plymouth Business School in Portsmouth, NH.
She was co-owner and operator with her cousin John Matthews of the family business, Chase's Garage Dodge Dealership and Auto Repair of York Beach.
In her later years she enjoyed being the proprietor of Chase's Summer Parking.
She was a life-time member of the Union Congregational Church and the Ladies Aid of York Beach.
She was also a member of the Sarah Orne Jewett Chapter of the Eastern Star and the York Senior Center.
Her family was her greatest joy, hosting Sunday night dinners every week and always providing her delicious chicken salad, ham and pickle finger rolls and potato salad at birthdays, cook-outs and Church events.
She shared fun times on family trips to Red Sox Spring Training in Winter Haven and Fort Myers, FL.
She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Gerald Vose and brother-in-law David Bardwell.
She is survived by a sister Geraldine Bardwell of York, ME; nieces Susanne Moran and husband Gil, Vickie Witham and husband Jeff, Linda Bardwell, Jennifer Poulin and husband Carol; nephew Aaron Vose; seven great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Debbie Ciampa for helping us out as a kind and dedicated caregiver and the exceptional people at Durgin Pines for giving her such wonderful care and support.
