Patricia Mae Boncal

June 10, 1935 ~ August 2, 2023 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Obituary

Patricia Mae Boncal, 88, quietly ended her earthly journey on August 2nd, 2023. She passed peacefully with her husband, Richard Boncal, her son, Richard Boncal II, her daughter in law, Misty Boncal and her youngest daughter, Beth Boncal, by her bedside.

Pat was born in Waterbury, CT and grew up in Naugatuck, CT where she met the love of her life Richard with whom she spent the last 65 years.  She served alongside Rich as a navy wife for more than 27 years. One of her most notable achievements during that time was her stewardship as Chairman of the International Students Sponsor program at the Naval Postgraduate School, where she assisted foreign national students and their families adapt to the American Life. She also worked for York High School for years as a teacher’s assistant.  Her interests outside of family were sewing, quilting and cooking. Always very social, the consummate story teller and could throw a dinner party on a moment’s notice.

Pat and Rich have lived in Hampton VA for the past 5 years and previously in York, ME for nearly 40 years. They moved to Maine, near the end of a Navy career and started a glass business in York.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents John and Mildred Regan, her brother John (Jack) Regan, her sister Mary Lou Regan and her grandson Thomas Gleason. Pat is survived by her husband, Richard Boncal, her brother, Thomas Regan, her children, Richard Boncal II (Misty) of Hampton VA, Patricia Boncal (Katrina) of Auburn, ME, Pamela Gleason (Robert) of Newtown CT, Beth Boncal of York, ME.  Her Grandchildren, Richard Boncal III (Becky), Andrew Boncal (Angie), Janelle Banks (Chris), Brock Perque (Taliya), Isabel Gleason, Madison Spencer (Trenton), and Peyton Darrah. Her Great Grandchildren, Garrett Boncal, Richard Boncal IV, Gertrude Boncal, Chelsea Perque, Clara Banks and Brock Matthew Perque II.
