Patricia “Patty” Maciejko, 67, of York Maine, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by family on March 4, 2026, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Newburyport in 1959 to Bill and Louise “Chickie” McGoldrick, but raised in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. As a city girl, Patty loved her time in Boston, though did enjoy frequent trips to her eventually beloved home, York Beach.
Her interest in taking care of others, specifically in healthcare, started when she was volunteering as a Candy Striper. She eventually worked as a lab technician and then became an EMT for the City of Boston. It was at Boston EMS where she ultimately met her husband, Tom. After years of taking care of the people of Boston, she started Immediate Connections, a much needed audio visual temporary staffing agency. She always had an entrepreneurial mind, and also started a much needed local taxi service serving York and the surrounding area.
When she wasn’t busy saving lives or running her business, she enjoyed many hobbies like photography, reading, and traveling to warm places, especially Florida.
Patty was a devoted mother to Laura and Kerri and beloved wife to Tom. She always said her children’s births changed her life for the better. Her family felt this in the love and support she provided. She was so proud of Laura and Kerri’s accomplishments working in the healthcare field and told everyone she could. While she has had many accomplishments herself throughout her life, it is clear that her family was what she was most proud of.
Patty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise (Chickie) and Bill McGoldrick, and her beloved pets Spanky, Smokey, Sox and Jax. She is survived by her her husband Tom, and daughters, Laura and Kerri, her pet Opie, as well as her brother Bill McGoldrick and sisters Linda O’Connor and Arlene Kelly, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Service details are listed below with a celebration of life to follow at York River Landing.
