Peter E. Ronnquist

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter Ronnquist, who left this world on July 10th, 2024 while vacationing in Maine with his family. Peter was a beloved fiancé to Ashley Pobiedzinski and a cherished stepfather to her son, Ryan Bernier.  He was always showering Ashley and Ryan with constant love and support, ensuring they always felt cherished and valued.

He is survived by his loving father, Malcolm Ronnquist (Linda Ronnquist), and his sister, Anne Kupke (Jeffrey Kupke). Peter was a proud uncle to his nephew, Nick Kupke (Kaitlin Adamek), and his nieces, Alison Szep (Ronny Szep) and Samantha Kupke (Andrew Smith), as well as a great uncle to Hudson Szep. Each of them will carry forward the memory of his love for them.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Ronnquist, who he loved and missed dearly.

Peter lived and worked in Massachusetts and was currently employed at Axcelis Technologies, where he had worked since 2014 and where he met his fiancé, Ashley.

Known for his love of the water, Peter enjoyed driving his dad’s boat around Beech Hill Pond and trying to snag a fish from the lake. He adored his dogs, Gus and Mya and he was a devoted Bruins fan with a particular love for racing and all things automotive.  His big heart and infectious spirit will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A graveside service to honor Peter's life will be held at 2:00 pm on August 2, 2024, at the First Parish Cemetery, 180 York St, York, Maine 03909. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Epilepsy Foundation of New England.

Peter’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
