Peter F. Davis

Peter F. Davis, 70, of York, ME passed away peacefully at York Hospital on April 21, 2022. Peter was surrounded by his loving family when he passed.

Peter was born on March 6, 1952 in Natick, MA to Joan (Macko) and Peter Davis Sr. Peter’s father was in the Air Force and he spent much of his youth traveling the world. Okinawa, Japan was his favorite place to live as a child. He always shared fond memories of his time there.

Peter graduated at the top of his class from Lowell Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Peter worked in Boston and married Denise Levine. Many summers were spent vacationing in York, ME. Peter and Denise fell in love with Maine and moved there in 1974.

During his early career, Peter worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME. Peter eventually decided that he wanted to build houses for a living and spent the last 40 years doing just that. He was self taught and worked by himself until his son came of age and joined him. His dedication and determination to his craft provided a nice living for his wife and three children. His career gave him the freedom to spend summers on Long Sands Beach playing bocce and horseshoes with his family and friends. On Sundays, Peter always looked forward to watching his favorite football team, the New England Patriots, with his brother in-laws

Peter was active with the Boy Scouts of America and guided his son to become an Eagle Scout. Peter loved to bowl and was apart of many bowling leagues. His other passion was traveling. Peter was able to travel around the U.S. competing in bowling tournaments. In the summer, Peter loved to golf and would often be found at Breakfast Hill Golf Club in Greenland, NH. He was very competitive and would never back down from his competition. Peter will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

Peter is survived by his best friend, Denise Davis, his son, Jeffrey Davis, two daughters, Julie Davis and Jill Davis, and his sister, Diane Cinko.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Lucas and Eaton in York, ME.
