York, Maine- Richard "Dick" J. Santoro-83, of York passed away on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 in York Hospital after a 13 year battle with cancer.
He was born March 31, 1942 in Providence, RI, a son of the late Armand and Ruth M. (Seddon) Santoro and brother to the late Kenneth Santoro.
Dick graduated from Norton High School and Springfield College in Massachusetts, and earned a Masters Degree in business from Golden Gate University.
He served in the United States Air Force, was the owner and operator of the family business, R. F. Hunter Co., and was a member and past President of Rotary International, York Chapter.
A devoted member of St. George's Episcopal Church in York Harbor, Dick loved his family, enjoyed golf, traveling and walking his beloved dogs, Bandit, Macy and Taffy.
Dick leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Martha E. (Hunter) Santoro; son Gary Santoro and his wife Tasha, son Paul Santoro, grandchild Makayla Allen, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 22nd at St. George's Episcopal Church, 407 York Street, York, Maine. Reception to follow at Union Bluff Meeting House.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute or The Rotary Foundation.
