York, Maine-Beloved husband, father and grandfather Robert " Bob" E. Bacon, passed away during the afternoon of December 29, 2021 after a period of failing health. He was born August 22, 1943 in Blackstone, MA a son of the late Leo P. and Edna (Darling) Bacon.
Bob proudly and honorably served his country for 28 years in the US Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. He was stationed at both US and European bases and served in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 56 in York, the Boardman-Ellis VFW Post 6977 in York Beach and was also a longtime member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Kennebunk, Maine.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna L. (Ballou) Bacon, his three daughters, Stephanie A. Bacon (Francis Labuski), Laurie A. Bacon Durst (Adam Durst) and Jamie E. Bacon; grandchildren Jacob, Joanne and Joshua Cluff, and Zachary and Kaitlyn Schott; a brother Raymond Bacon and sister Margaret Hanson.
Honoring Bob’s wishes there will be no services. Interment will be in the First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine.
