Robin E. (Doughty) Sawyer

Bridgton, ME-Robin Elizabeth Sawyer, 54,  gained her angel wings and went to heaven on August 13th, 2019 following  a brief illness. 

Robin was born on April 16, 1965 in Lynn, MA and lived most of her life in York before moving to Bridgton.

Robin was chosen to work at Walt Disney World and earned a Disney Diploma.  She then went on to work at Continental Airlines as a luggage tenant for about 3 years.  It was then she realized she had a love for travel so she went on to flight attendant school where she earned her wings as a flight attendant and started a career at American Airlines retiring after 23 years of service.  Robin had a passion for the lake, boating and dogs. She bred Irish Wheatens in her home in Bridgton and made sure these pups went to good loving homes. 

Robin is survived by her mother and step-father Janice  and Charlie Knowles of Ormond Beach, FL;  her partner William Neumann and his sons Matthew and Jacob;  sisters Carolyn Torrey and her partner Mike of Cape Neddick, ME,  Bonnie Knowles of Salem, MA, Robin Derba and her husband Steven of Haverhill, MA,  Cheri LaFortune and her husband Dan of Newmarket, NH;  brothers Chuck Knowles and his wife Lisa of Merrimac, MA and Mark Knowles and his wife Jennifer of South Berwick, ME; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved her very much.

Robin is predeceased by her father Robert S. Doughty and her grandparents Robert and Helen Doughty and James and Beatrice Rowland.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, September 10th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine.
