Sally Jean Krasowski, born on August 31, 1946, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to her family.
Sally was born in Portland, Maine, and attended local Portland Schools, graduating in 1964. She later lived in Bangor, Maine, and Salem, New Hampshire, before settling in York, Maine, where she spent many happy years. She was a dedicated teacher’s aide who touched the lives of many children with her kindness and patience. Sally also spent many seasons working at Rose’s T-Shirt Shop on the beach in York, where her friendly smile and welcoming personality made her a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
Sally was known for her sunny disposition and her ability to make everyone feel at home. She had a deep love for gardening and found great joy in tending to her flowers and sharing their beauty with others. More than anything, Sally cherished time with her family. She loved hosting family dinners, traveling the world with her husband, and creating lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Joseph Frank Krasowski; her three children, Sandy Fyfe and her husband, Thomas Fyfe; Teresa Leccese and her husband, Tom Leccese; and Joseph Krasowski and his wife, Kimberly Krasowski. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Emily Krasowski, Joseph Krasowski, Matthew Kondrat, Kenny Kondrat, Heather Fyfe, Brian Fyfe, and Andrew Fyfe, as well as several great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Sally was predeceased by her parents, Winston and Eleanor Heflin, and her granddaughter, Ashley Della Pelle.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Georges and his excellent team of nurses at York Oncology for the compassionate care and support they provided to Sally throughout her illness.
Sally’s life was a testament to love, family, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the gardens she tended, the memories she created, and the many lives she touched.
