York, Maine-Shirley J. Davis Chilson Davenport, 91 was born August 18, 1929 in Bristol, CT., to the late Walter L. and Grace E. (Cowperthwaite) Davis.

She grew up in Methuen, MA and later moved to York, Maine. She was predeceased by her best friend and husband of 38 years, LaVern W. Davenport.

She and Vern met at the York Golf & Tennis Club and were married on September 25, 1982. She was an avid golfer.

Shirley is survived by her son Richard Chilson and two grandchildren, Richard and Samantha; many close friends including Marj, Jim, Carla and Kerri. Shirley looks forward to meeting Sally, Ann and Barbara on the First Tee.

At Shirley's request there will be no funeral services.
