York, Maine- Susan M. Blaisdell, 51 of 1 Abattoir Dr., passed away on Friday February 26, 2021 at home with her family by her side, losing her hard fought battle with colon cancer. She was born January 20, 1970 in Portsmouth, NH a daughter of Philip J. and Joyce A. (Moreau) Weeks.
We lost a beautiful, caring, passionate child, sister, wife, mother and friend today. It was easy to see her beauty on the outside, only a few special people, truly saw her beauty on the inside- the most caring, giving, loyal person that gave unconditional love. Although, she preferred jeans and a t-shirt, her brilliance was hard to match. Sue loved board games, card games, electronic games and especially enjoyed gaming on Minecraft and XBOX with her two sons. Her children were her top priority, above all else. However, if a friend, was in need, she would pack up the kids and immediately offer assistance. Sue was a simple person, only needing her family and friends and not caring about material things. Her home was her castle, her domain and where she felt most comfortable. She enjoyed hosting holiday events where family and friends were always welcome. Sue wasn’t afraid to get dirty, willing to help on the farm, drive an excavator or just dig a hole. She enjoyed riding her four-wheeler and truck in the mud and snowmobiling with her best friends Julia and Steve.
Sue enjoyed wildlife of all sorts, many of which wandered through our back yard. She had a special attachment to wolves because of her first love, Coya (her wolf hybrid dog). She loved felines too- having had two Maine coon cats previously and leaving behind two Siberian Forest cats.
She graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1988, diving into the working world in retail, construction and bookkeeping. Working as a Bookkeeper for over 25 years, she helped many small business owners and Non-Profit organizations. Her ability to read, comprehend and apply the everchanging QuickBooks software, was amazing. She found her dream job at Schoff & Associates, where she formed great friendships with coworkers and clients. Sue was a take charge, get it done person that loved a challenge. She never backed down from any project.
Sue touched so many with her kindness, empathy and compassion- she is already missed by family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, clients and many others. She truly was, one in a million!
Besides her parents, she leaves her husband of 21 years, Michael T. Blaisdell; 2 sons Samuel J. Blaisdell and Peter M. Blaisdell of York, Maine; 2 sisters Tracey A. Durfee and husband John of Salem, NH and Jennifer L. Conrad and husband David of North Barrington, IL; nieces, nephews and friends. A sister Kimberly Lee Weeks predeceased her.
Seems fitting to end this with these Sue-isms: Can’t means won’t; everyone is born right- handed, only a few overcome it; if you fail at something, then do it like your wife told you in the first place. Finally, Sue always ended her emails with HAVE A SMILING GOOD DAY!
Love you always, your Hubby and sons (Your Blaisdell Boys).
