Theresa Marie (Desorcy) Scott

Theresa “Terry” Scott, of South Berwick, Maine, beloved wife of the late Robert G. Scott, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2020, in the care and company of her loving family, after a long and happy life. She was eighty-six years old. Those relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know Terry will remember her kindness and her devotion to her family, her friends, and her church. Her presence will be sorely missed, but her loving legacy lives on.

Terry grew up in Holyoke, Massachusetts and raised her family in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed spending time with her neighbors, her bowling league, and the devotional societies at her church. Summer vacationing with family at York Beach, Maine was among her favorite pastimes. In later years, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, enjoying her long-time role as a staff member at the Ortega Playschool. Most recently, she lived in the homes of her loving children, dividing her time between Florida and Maine.

She is survived by her brother, Ronald Desorcy (Ellen), her sister, MaryAnn Craven, her three children, Linda Schelfhaudt (James), Michael Scott (Joni), and Kathleen Bossi (Vincent), her nine grandchildren, Kristin, Robert, Katelyn, Renee, Carie, Morgan, Brittany, Hannah, Jacob, and her seven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Keegan, Lydia, Miles, Carson, Wynn, and Cameron.

Burial will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Florida. We know that many people would like to express, in person, their grief for Terry’s passing, and give consolation to those she leaves behind, but for the health and safety of all her loving friends and family, a memorial service will be delayed until a safer time. The family is grateful to Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home in York, Maine for coordinating those arrangements. In lieu of flowers or other tributes, we simply ask that you do something kind for somebody, in her memory.
