It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Ursula Perkins, who peacefully departed this world on April 3, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Kiel, Germany, Ursula lived a life full of grace, love, and kindness. She was a beacon of light and laughter to all who knew her, spreading warmth with her gentle smile, generous heart, and quick wit.
Ursula was a cherished member of our family, and her legacy of compassion and strength will remain in our hearts forever. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family, offering wisdom and support through every challenge. Her enduring love and dedication helped shape the lives of both her children and her grandchildren.
She had an unyielding spirit and a passion for her cats and dogs, which she fulfilled with vigor and joy. Her unending love and dedication for them remains a fond memory and an inspiration to us all.
Ursula is survived by her daughter, Teresa and son-in-law, Shawn Vansteensburg as well as her grandsons, Christopher Vansteensburg and Garrett Perkins. We will miss her deeply, but we find comfort in the countless beautiful memories we shared with her. Her legacy will continue to guide us, and her love will forever be a part of our family.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, May 16, 2025, in the First Parish Cemetery in York, Maine, where friends and family will gather to say goodbye, honoring her life and the love she shared with all those whom she met. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Animal Welfare Society of Kennebunk, Maine, reflecting her dedication and love for animals. Rest in peace, dear Ursula. You will be forever loved and remembered.
