Vick Contella of Eliot, Maine passed away December 29th, 2024, at the age of 88 after a period of declining health, with family by his side. He was a very devoted husband, brother, dad, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and was known to all of his grandchildren as “Sugar”. Family and his dogs were everything to Vick.
He was born in Highbank, Tx. April 27th, 1936, and lived in Marlin, Tx. Until 1958 when the family moved to Kittery. He served in the Army National Guard from 1955 to 1968 and was also an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose #444. Vick and Bobbie were married for 68 years and were long time members of the Down East Westerners Square Dance Club.
Vick was a well-respected painter throughout the Seacoast area, starting his own business in 1966 and operating Contella Painting for over 55 years, retiring in 2022. He always kept himself busy and was constantly working on projects around the house, or at the family camp in Southern Maine. Vick was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
Per Vicks’ wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Loyal Order of Moose 444, 76 U.S. 1 Bypass, Kittery, Maine 03904.
