York, Maine-William ‘Bill’ ‘Hutch’ Hutchins. Bill went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Farmington, Maine on October 17, 1946, the son of Melvin and Marion Hutchins. He spent his childhood in Kingfield, Maine. He graduated from Kingfield High School in 1965, where he was the valedictorian. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he made Chief Master Sergeant a promotion rarely achieved in just 20 years. He retired after 26 years at Pease Air Force Base in N.H. after completing several overseas (one in direct support to the Vietnam war) and stateside tours.
He found his second career at Bill Dube’s car dealership as a service and parts director for 32 years. He became a key figure in the Dube business and enjoyed every minute.
Bill met the love of his life at 19 years old, Gloria Greenleaf. They married in November, 1965. They were happily married for 57 years. They were proud parents of Douglas W. Hutchins (wife Cheryl) and Susan V. Donnell (husband Timothy) and granddaughter, Kiyanna Hutchins.
Bill was a longtime faithful member of The Church at Spruce Creek and loved his church family. He was an avid high -performance automobile enthusiast and drag racer. He also loved snowmobiling and ATVS.
He is survived by his wife Gloria, of York, his son Douglas and Cheryl, of Fort Worth Tx, daughter Susan and Tim Donnell, of York and granddaughter, Kiyanna, of Boston, Ma. He also loved his extended family.
