Yolanda Rossi, 99, residing in Cape Neddick, Maine, passed away at home on February 6th, with her family by her side.
Yolanda was born in Brooklyn, NY but spent much of her life in Leominster Massachusetts. She was the Personnel Director of Leominster Hospital for many years. She enjoyed supporting the community. She was a member of the town Board of Appeals, was a Poll Deputy at election time and worked to support many local candidates.
She was very proud of her Italian heritage. Both her father, Nicholas Spingla and her mother Theresa Spingla (Mafrici) emigrated to the US from Southern Italy. Yolanda took great pride in continuing Italian holiday traditions to share with friends and family.
Yolanda was predeceased by her husband Lou and her brother, Angelo. But also her dog, Chester, who she loved very much. She leaves behind a son, Stephen and Daughter-in-Law, Christine. A grandson, Nicholas. A granddaughter, Christina and her husband, Ryan. 2 Great Grandchildren, Fiona and Jack. A sister-in-Law, Dawn and a Niece, Jennifer.
Yolanda will be remembered as someone who loved to stay active, walking the Marginal Way with her friends to breakfast nearly every morning for decades. She also loved her cribbage friends and looked forward to seeing Marilyn, Phyllis and Fay every Wednesday afternoon.
She loves listening to Perry Como, Dean Martin and especially Frank Sinatra. Her favorite song was “My Way” which truly embodied her style and attitude about life.
